In My Mailbox #1 - Do you remember your "first time"? Your first ARC/Proof that is!

In MyMailbox (IMM) is a weekly feature organised by The Story Siren. IMM is a post where you can show which books entered your house and it also gives you a chance to say thank you to the people that kindly sent them. To find out more about how you can join in, click here.

I've been blogging for just a few months now and I've loved the IMM posts I've seen from other bloggers. However, as I'm such a noOb, I've not had much opportunity to get involved! Finally, however, the ball has started rolling.

Those of you who read my Up And Coming Reviews post last week, will remember I sent a thank you to whoever it was who sent me The Goddess Test, by Aimee Carter. Well, there's still no word on who actually sent me this, but I thought I'd reiterate my whole-hearted THANKS as that's why I want to get involved in IMM.

This week, I received my first uncorrected proof directly from a publisher. I've been doing the happy dance since it hit my doormat! So a HUGE thank you to Chicken House Books! You've made my week!

It was just another school trip...
When their ski-coach pulls up at a cafe, and everyone else gets off, new girl Bobby and rebel Smitty stay behind. They hardly know each other but that changes when through the fallingsnow, they see the others coming back.
Something has happened to them.
Something bad.
Soon only a pair of double doors stand between those on the bus and their ex-friends the Undead outside. Time to get a life.
Brilliant zom-com horror novel from an exciting new author to Chicken House.

You can get more information on the book, as well as reading an extract, here

I can't wait to read this and it's taking pride of place in my TBR pile because it feels like a book-blogging right of passage to receive an advanced copy.

To all of the other book bloggers out there, do you remember the first book you were sent by a publisher/author? Are uncorrected proofs like lovers: you always remember your first? He he he. I hope you share your "firsts" in the comments below!

  8. How fun! I do remember my first arc, it was Jon Shors book, Dragon House and I LOVED it. I was also his first review on Amazon and he remembered me when his second book came out.

Congrats to you - you are embarking on an amazing journey (take it from someone who is just about to celebrate 2 years of doing this)
