LITERARY GIVEAWAY HOP!

Another day, another giveaway hop! This week, I'm taking part in the Literature Blog Hop, hosted by Leswammes

This hop came with only a teeny bit of small print, and that was this: "...if you’re giving away a book, that it should have some literary merit." Fair enough, eh?

So! Within the Rafflecopter sign up, you'll get a space to say what book you'd like to win and why you think of it as "literature". I'd say the idea of literary merit is open to interpretation, but figured I'd recommend two books in particular: The Helpas it seems to pup up in most of my "Top Ten Tuesday" recommendations, and Room as I love it so much that I volunteered (and was accepted) to give 25 copies away for World Book Night (why not make it 26, right?).

Nearly 60 blogs are taking part in this hop, so be sure to check out the link list below to increase your chances of winning!

Good Luck!

  2. I would love to have the Wolf Gift! I think anything that Anne Rice writes is pure, perfect literature. If i can escape to another place without leaving my couch... she is my ticket there!

  4. I'd like to win my own copy of 1Q84. I just finished reading it and it left me longing for a reread. In my ideal world, I'd love to win an e-book of this novel, as it weighs in at a hefty 900+ pages!

  6. I think I'd have to choose 'The Paris Wife' by Paula McLain. It's about the Hemingways, the Fitzgeralds, and bohemian Paris in the twenties - you don't get much more literary than that! :)

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  7. I'd like to read The Sisters Brothers by Patrick DeWitt. I'm interested in this book because it doesn't seem literary to me (it's sort of a comic/violent/Western) but it was nominated for a Man Booker Prize and everyone seems to love it.

  8. I'd love to have my own copy of Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides, and I think it's literature because... I guess because it makes me feel things and has beautiful words that it backs up with a beautiful story, and while the subject matter of literature doesn't have to be beautiful, I think it all ends up being beautiful anyway. That, quite possibly made no sense...

Also, I agree with you on Room because it is incredible, but not so much with The Help because I have... issues with that book.

  9. The Detective by Imre Kertesz, this was described by The Times Literary Supplement as, " a sophisticated and brilliant dissection of nihilistic power & it's servants" this is a writer whose works I want to explore.

  18. I'd love to read Before I go to Sleep by SJ Watson. As for it being literature, well I'm basing it on the fact that it seems to be on all the book club reading lists that I've seen for this year so there must be some merit in it!! (And I've read an extract and I'm desperate to read the book now!!)
